Committed to improving the lives of our valuable people

Storm Mountain Diamonds-Kao is always committed to improving the lives of people living in the communities around the mine. The mine has special interest to ensure that the standard of education is improved at Kao and that water and sanitation facilities are available to the communities. On the 18th of November 2021, the mine launched the following projects at Shishila Primary School: a piggery project, teachers' and pupils' toilets, a staff room, principal's office, and maintenance of old classrooms.

The mine also handed over portable drinking water to the village of Lihloahloeng.

All these projects were officially opened and handed over by the Right Honourable Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Mathibeli Mokhothu. The event was also attended, amongst many dignitaries, by Honourable Minister of Mining, Mr. Serialong Qoo, Honourable Minister of Gender, Sports and Recreation, Mrs. Likeleli Tampane, Honourable Minister of Education and Training, Mrs. Mamookho Phiri, Honourable Deputy Minister of Water, Mr. Mankoe Maime, of behalf of Butha-Buthe Principal Chief, Mrs Mamanamolela Mopeli, Motete M.P. Hon. Tumahole Lerafa and management of the mine.
